Interchangeable Ring Prototype and Render, Summer 2011
Materials: Brass, synthetic stone
Processes: Modelled in Rhino, 3D printed, cast in brass
Concept: This product line appeals to individuality: customers have the ability to compose their own assembly of a topper and stone piece in combination with a ring shank. The overall appearance of the jewellery can be made to suit any occasion using the interchangeable components; the more pieces the customer collects, the more possibilities become available to them. The ring shank is a one-time purchase and platform to assemble many creations, saving customers money. The stone pieces are also investments as they can be paired with any topper to add sparkle and visual value. The user-friendly and cost-effective format makes specialty jewellery less intimidating to new customers. Furthermore, interchangeability among the pieces creates opportunity for repeat customers and the chance for them to become collectors of the brand.
